Job Description

Advertising Strategist | Ecommerce & Retail Media | Remote (US-based only) | $80,000–$100,000/year DOE, up to 20% Annual Bonus

Ready to own advertising strategy, not just execute it?

pdPlus is a full-service ecommerce and retail media agency based in Austin, TX, offering advertising, content, marketing strategy, copywriting, and more for a growing portfolio of brands across consumer health, apparel, food & beverage, pet, and industrial products. We move fast, communicate directly, and own outcomes for our clients.

We're looking for an Advertising Strategist to take full ownership of advertising strategy and performance across a book of client accounts. This is a client-facing role: you'll set the strategic direction, direct monthly budgets against real business goals, lead performance conversations with brand stakeholders, and coordinate execution with our internal team. If you're equally at home digging into campaign data and presenting to a client's leadership team, keep reading.

What You'll Do

\n
• Own advertising strategy across your accounts — Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and Amazon DSP
\n
• Set and direct monthly ad budgets against client margins, revenue, TACoS/ACoS, and growth targets, including pacing, reallocation, and forecasting
\n
• Serve as the primary advertising contact for your clients: lead monthly performance reviews, present strategy recommendations, and turn data into clear narratives stakeholders can act on
\n
• Partner with pdPlus Brand Managers to align advertising with overall account health, listing quality, promotions, and inventory realities
\n
• Manage and optimize campaigns through Xnurta — automation rules, dayparting, and AMC-driven audience strategies
\n
• Build full-funnel DSP strategies (retargeting, in-market, NTB audiences) and integrate them with sponsored ads performance
\n
• Contribute to audits, forecasts, and strategy documents for new business pitches and quarterly planning
\n
• Track category and competitor trends and proactively bring growth opportunities to clients
\n

What You Bring

\n
• US-based and authorized to work in the United States
\n
• 2–4 years of hands-on Amazon Advertising experience (agency or in-house, managing meaningful monthly spend)
\n
• Direct experience with Xnurta for campaign management and reporting
\n
• Amazon DSP experience — building, launching, and optimizing programmatic campaigns
\n
• Amazon Ads Academy certification (or willingness to certify within 90 days)
\n
• Proven experience setting Amazon advertising strategy at the account level — not just executing campaigns
\n
• Experience managing monthly ad budgets, including pacing and forecasting
\n
• Experience working cross-functionally with internal operators and key stakeholders
\n
• Strong client-facing communication skills — comfortable leading calls, presenting performance, and handling tough conversations
\n
• Fluency in TACoS, Contribution Margin, NTB, AMC, and incrementality
\n
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets and reporting skills — you can build a clear story from data
\n

The Perfect Candidate

\n
• A strategic thinker who can zoom out to architect growth plans and zoom in to execute with precision
\n
• A natural leader who earns trust quickly with both clients and internal teams
\n
• A strong communicator who can translate complex performance data into clear, compelling narratives
\n
• Highly organized, structured, and proactive
\n
• Obsessed with continuous improvement and building scalable systems
\n
• Comfortable with ambiguity, change, and rapid growth
\n
• Energized by accountability and ownership
\n
• You likely come from a background in ecommerce, marketplaces, performance marketing, or digital strategy, and you enjoy operating at the intersection of brand, media, creative, and analytics.
\n
• You take pride in being the person who sees what others miss, anticipates challenges before they become problems, and pushes strategy forward instead of waiting for instructions.
\n

Nice to Have

\n
• Walmart Connect or Roundel (Target) advertising experience
\n
• Experience with other retail media or ad platforms (Instacart, Kroger, Google, Meta)
\n
• Prior agency experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously
\n
• Compensation & Benefits
\n

What We Offer

\n
• $80,000-$100,000 base salary, depending on experience
\n
• Health, dental, and vision insurance; PTO; 401(k)
\n
• Fully remote (US)
\n
• Annual Bonus Structure
\n
